Your Path to the Cockpit – Simple Steps to Get Started

1. Take a Discovery Flight: The best way to see if flying is for you! Book a 30 minute introductory flight where you'll sit in the pilot's seat (with your instructor guiding your every step). Feel the controls, experience takeoff and landing, and get a real taste of what training feels like. No experience required - just curiosity and excitement!

2. Contact Us: Reach out to discuss your goals: Recreational flying? Career pilot path? Adding a rating? Converting a foreign license? Call (972) 524-1601 or email trlaviation@aol.com. 3. Meet the Requirements: Most programs start with basic eligibility:

   • Be at least 16-17 years old (depending on certificate) although you can start training prior to your 16th birthday. 

   • Read, speak, write, and understand English.

   • Hold a valid U.S. driver's license (for Sport Pilot) or get an FAA medical certificate.

   • For international students: Complete TSA approval (FTSP) and visa steps - we guide you through it. We'll help confirm what you need for your specific program.

4. Enroll & Begin Training: Once you're ready, we customize your program - ground school, flight lessons, solo flights, cross-countries, and checkride prep. Train in our reliable fleet with experienced instructors who prioritize safety and fun.

5. Enjoy the Journey: Fly in great conditions year-round, build skills quickly, and celebrate milestones like your first solo or checkride pass. Many students go on to rent our aircraft, pursue advanced ratings, or even join our team!
