Typical Requirements & Timeline:

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Read, speak, write, and understand English fluently.

• Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate (or ATP) with Airplane Single-Engine Land rating.

• Hold an Instrument Rating (or appropriate privileges).

• Pass the FAA Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) and Flight Instructor Airplane (FIA) knowledge tests.

• Complete required flight training, schedule and pass the practical test (oral + flight checkride) quickly with a KTRL based DPE.
