At Terrell Aviation, we provide flexible Part 61 commercial pilot training in single-engine airplanes, helping you earn your Commercial Pilot Certificate - Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL). This rating allows you to fly for compensation or hire (with limitations), such as flight instructing, charter operations, aerial photography, or building hours toward an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. Our program is customized to your experience, schedule, and career goals while delivered in a low-stress environment with expert instruction.
FAA Minimum Requirements We Help You Meet (§61.129):
At least 18 years old to take the checkride. You can start commercial training younger than 18 as long as you hold a private pilot certificate
Log 250 hours total flight time (including 100 hours in powered aircraft, 50 in airplanes; 100 hours PIC; 50 hours cross-country). Up to 50 of these hours can be logged using our AATD simulator, significantly reducing overall costs.
Complete specific training: 10 hours in a complex or our TAA equipped airplane, 10 hours instrument (if needed), night operations, and advanced maneuvers.
Pass the FAA Commercial Knowledge Test (written exam) and the practical test (checkride) with a KTRL based Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).
Note: Realistic totals often exceed minima (>250 hours common) for proficiency. Your instructors guide efficient time building.
